"My joyful abstracts enliven your space so that you LOVE being at home or work and are proud to invite others in."
Although Bedrick studied sculpture at the University of Michigan and in Florence, Italy, as a painter she is self-taught.
Bedrick first learned about cold wax, a medium that looks remarkably like Crisco, in the summer of 2015. Unlike encaustic, which uses heat, cold wax is used at room temperature and simply mixed with oil paint. By using the cold wax both thickly and thinly, textures can be crafted at the same time that transparencies are created, allowing Bedrick to produce the rich surfaces that her work is known for.
In the few years that she has been painting with cold wax, Bedrick has been granted a number of solo exhibitions and has also participated in group shows at a variety of venues across the country. In addition to showing at her own gallery/studio, she is represented by The WIT Gallery in Lenox, MA, Douglas Albert Gallery in State College, PA and Domaine Design Gallery in Spring Lake, NJ.
Bedrick welcomes visitors to her gallery/studio, Anne Bedrick Fine Art, 68895 Perez Road, Unit I26, Cathedral City, CA 92234 Wednesday-Saturday 11-3 or by appointment.
