Anna Church

Toronto, Canada

Anna is gregarious by nature and by no means a 'solitary artist' she loves nothing better than conversing and collaborating! An advocate for the art of retaining fond memories you'll find Anna in her element when she is creating stylised photographic commissions. Through her medium of sculptural assemblage. Anna has the opportunity to compose her private clients' treasured curiosities and heirlooms into a beautiful still life, bespoke (one of a kind) photographic prints that they can treasure and look at every day.

A finder, collator certainly, curator indeed, creator for sure, and composer definitely. Anna's work is highly conceptual but not at the expense of aesthetics, illustrating complex ideas and concepts but in ways that are easily digestible and tangible to her viewers. She creates works that are layered with meaning and stunningly beautiful.

Through her sculptor-graphic process, Anna builds new shapes from surprising elements, creating a sculpture and capturing a photograph of a new composition, yielding a fine art print. All of Church’s artworks have been designed to inspire conversation, they are reflections of our modern world and experience, yet all possess an ease that renders them comfortable in your home environment.

Her ethos is; Art should inspire you to look deeper yet be a welcome cohabiter. Church’s experience is rooted in her graphic design and interior styling background, contributing to her keen eye for colour stories and composition, central themes in her fine art compositions. Anna’s tactile nature, design sensibility, and imagination turns almost any material into sculpture before capturing it all through the lens of her camera. These new forms of found, reinvented and cinematic materials have defined her multi-format medium as ‘Sculptography’. Exhibiting in New York, Miami, London, Amsterdam, Toronto and New Zealand, Anna has been heralded globally as an ‘artist to watch’.

Anna welcomes being contacted about her work and talking about possible collaboration projects.
