In 1979 I was awarded an internship to the Mary Boone Gallery in New York from the University of California Irvine. I then decided to stay in New York, with the help of my college professor and mentor Craig Kauffman, and pursue my art career. At this time I found a job working for the Edward Thorpe Gallery in New York and eventually became the gallery manager. Mr. Thorpe actively watched my art work mature and in 1990 began showing my work in the gallery. This was a period where my work was deemed neo-romantic landscapes. his time I found a job working for the Edward Thorpe Gallery in New York and eventually became the gallery manager.
