Decades ago Luca studied to be an experimental scientist. He learned methods to probe the nature of things and built tools to confirm hypotheses about the physical world. An inclination towards making led him to conceive and prototype many one-of-a-kind devices during his subsequent career in industrial research and development.
Over time he developed an interest in the products that populate living spaces and in the cultural and practical aspects of their emergence and use. An unshakeable fondness for giving form to ideas has ultimately resulted in the work that led to discrete.
The research at the far end of scientific inquiry and Luca’s experience with prototyping are foundational to discrete’s designs and their ambition to engage our perception and serve functional purposes well at the same time.
